About me

My photography career began late in life. My first love was drawing and painting but I knew that I wouldn't be able to make a living at it. In 1994, I got a part time job working as an imaging tech at the Ledger Dispatch in Antioch, Calif. After three years of working there I picked up a camera and fell in love. On my lunch hour I would go to local high school games and shoot pictures. Three years later I got a part-time job as a photographer at a weekly newspaper. Under the supervision of a group of talented photojournalist I learned quickly. In 1997, I applied for a staff photographer position at the newspaper where it all started and I haven't looked back.

I currently work as a photojournalist at the Contra Costa Times in Walnut Creek, Calif.
